NEW AND EXCITING BIKES FROM TREK & RALEIGH
T’is the season for new model year roll outs. I am recently returned from the Trek and Raleigh 2011 model year events. Of course there is the expected – e.g., ever lighter carbon fiber racing bikes, wider choices in the ever popular hybrid format, etc. And there is the unexpected: for example, lower prices on some of the most popular road bikes.
For example, the Ultegra equipped Trek Madone 5.2 has not only dropped weight but also price by $700 ! The 2011 Madone 5.2 will be a stunningly competitive MSRP pf $3149 ! We are now offering the Madone 5.2 for an introductory price of $2999.99.
Raleigh also has some exciting new road bikes. This year Raleigh has introduced the new Revenio Line of ultra light Aluminum frames with Carbon forks.
My own personal favorite is the Revenio 3.0 and its women’s specific counterpart, the Capri 3.0- a sub twenty pound bike with a light butted aluminum frame and carbon fork and Shimano 105 component group for only msrp $1200. Paul’s expects to have bike bikes soon in for only $1100 !
One of Trek’s most exciting new offerings is the TRANSPORT. We think it an amazing value for less than $1300 in the conventional unassisted format and less than $2800 in the Electric assisted version. The bike comes complete with front and rear racks and carrying bag. In addition, the bike is much lighter than most of the other cargo bikes available on the market. So, if you are ready to give up your car and go 100% pedal power and shoe leather, this is the bike for you to check out.

Delays of up to 20 minutes will occur. Please obey all signage and flaggers for your safety. Please have a look at the video provided by ODOT. You can folow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U1gQwefcks or see it on the right column of this page. Path users in the Whilamut Natural Area will experience future path delays as needed to maintain safety within the construction zone.

Gary Fisher Visits the Alder Street Store
We were all delighted to have a long visit with Gary Fisher. Gary was in town for his son’s graduation from the University of Oregon. That practically makes him a duck. Of course, we don’t see many ducks here in Eugene who exhibit Gary’s sartorial splendor.
